When I was a kid, and I told my parents I was bored, their standard reply was 'Well, go play outside'. The majority of my childhood was spent playing hide and seek, dodgeball, and various card games with other kids in the neighborhood. That for sure made my parents very happy, not only because they felt like it was time well spent, but because they got to have some peace and quiet inside the house while I was running around outside. 

At a certain point, we were introduced to the computer and the internet, and that definitely took up some of the outside time from before. Hide and seek games were replaced by online games, and the internet became this fantastic thing we could not get enough of. 

These days, kids are pretty much lost without the internet. While I'm sure there are kids out there who still prefer grabbing a ball and going to play outside with their friends, we all know that most kids would rather just scroll through TikTok. What their parents think of that, however, is anyone's guess…
